As soon as the divorce is pronounced, property separation arises. This means that you can divide joint property. This can be done by agreement in a conciliatory manner, or if there is no agreement on this issue through legal proceedings before the competent district court. To this end, an application must be made for the division of joint property.
Interestingly, there is no obligation to divide joint property - it may remain undivided. Not also the maximum deadline by which to divide. The property can be divided immediately after divorce, e.g. 20 years after divorce. However, it should be pointed out that the longer it is delayed to divide, the likelihood that it will change its shape or value increases, which may make dividing more difficult. As time passes, problems with evidence may also increase (difficulty in finding the documents or witnesses needed increases).
